Meet the Team
Will O’Connor
Executive Director
Will leads the team at The Chelsea at Bald Eagle in all operational and business initiatives. He is responsible for maintaining high-level performance in all areas of service at Bald Eagle.
Will started at Bald Eagle when he was 16 years old working as a dishwasher. After working in several positions in dietary, including supervisor, he joined the Sales team at The Chelsea at Montville, and then Chelsea’s Information Technology department.
Not long after, Will returned home to West Milford to join the team as Executive Director.
Cari Ohlandt
Director of Community Relations
Cari leads the sales and marketing initiatives at The Chelsea at Bald Eagle in her role as the Director of Community Relations. Under her leadership, she is responsible for developing a cohesive community by connecting with families, residents and businesses alike, and driving the sales process.
Cari first started at Chelsea as a concierge. But her ability to connect with seniors and families soon materialized into a newfound passion. She was promoted to the sales team and now leads the team at Bald Eagle in helping families with their research and move-in process.
Originally from California’s Napa Valley region and Fort Bragg, Cari has been happy to call New Jersey home for the last 17 years. She volunteers at the Hospital for Special Care (HFSC), teaches yoga to seniors (she’s a certified geriatric yoga instructor), and used to volunteer at a Veterans Home in Napa Valley.
Cari has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Santa Barbara in biopsychology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her daughter and identical twin sons, and her rescue dog, Zeus.
Jose Cruz
Executive Chef
Jose leads Bald Eagle’s culinary team. As perhaps the most desired area for residents living at The Chelsea, he is responsible for consistently providing delicious meals and high-quality service.
Jose has over 42 years of food service experience working in various sectors of the industry such as corporate dining, restaurants, luxury living, catering, and more. He’s cooked for events at the Javits Center and also for customers of American Airlines.
Jose also has experience as a Baker and Pastry Chef. He has certificates in Culinary Arts and Commercial Baking, and also received a certificate from the French Culinary Institute in Mastering Chocolate.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their two Cane Corso Mastiffs, and their eight grandchildren. He enjoys listening to music, traveling and visiting different countries, exploring and tasting the local cuisine. He says the best part of his job “is being able to provide our residents with the best dining experience possible, and mentoring and developing my staff to their full potential.”
Stan Frey
Building Services Director
Stan manages all of the building’s maintenance-related services and regularly inspects the property to ensure prevention of potential issues.
Stan has been working at Bald Eagle for over 22 years. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of building repair and alterations, keeping in mind regulatory guidelines, deadlines, and budgetary restrictions along the way.
Stan was born and raised in West Milford and is a 5-time Fire Chief for the local fire department.
